At Brick Library, we specialize in larger LEGO® sets with at least 1,000 pieces. If you’re considering a subscription for a child, we highly recommend researching which sets align with their building abilities to ensure an enjoyable experience.

LEGO® provides age recommendations for every set, which you can find at the bottom of each set description. You can also browse sets by age range on LEGO®’s website to find the best fit. “From toddlers to teens, there is plenty to discover with sets ranging in building skill.”

Understanding LEGO® Age Recommendations

Toddlers (Under 4 Years Old)

For children younger than four, LEGO® offers educational sets designed to support brain development and fine motor skills. These sets typically contain fewer than 500 pieces and feature larger figures and bricks, such as those found in LEGO® DUPLO® sets, which are specifically designed for toddlers.

Children (6-8 Years Old)

As children grow, their interest in LEGO® may fluctuate. Some may embrace more advanced builds, while others might find even simpler sets challenging. If your child is new to LEGO®, we recommend starting with sets that contain fewer than 1,000 pieces to build confidence and skill.

Children (9-12 Years Old)

At this stage, kids are ready for more complex building techniques. Most sets between 1,000 and 2,000 pieces are well-suited for this age range. Experienced builders may even be interested in larger, more intricate models.

Teens (13-17 Years Old)

By their teenage years, LEGO® enthusiasts can typically handle most builds with ease. However, if your child is new to LEGO®, we still suggest starting with a set under 2,000 pieces to develop foundational skills before tackling larger projects.

Adults (18+)

The 18+ label on LEGO® sets indicates they were designed by adults with adults in mind. However, the label does not necessarily indicate difficulty, and some of these sets may still be suitable for younger builders with experience.

Brick Library Difficulty Levels

At Brick Library, we categorize our sets by difficulty level to help you choose the right challenge:

Easy: Sets under 1,000 pieces, ideal for beginner builders.

Medium: Sets ranging from 1,000-2,000 pieces with slightly more advanced building techniques.

Difficult: Sets ranging from 2,000-4,000 Pieces. Suitable for experienced builders.

Advanced: Master Builder sets exceeding 4,000 pieces, perfect for those looking for the ultimate challenge.

We do not carry DUPLO® sets and primarily cater to builders who are already familiar with LEGO®.

Find the Perfect Set for You

If you’re considering a subscription to Brick Library, we encourage you to explore the available sets to find the best fit for your skill level. While it might be tempting to jump straight into the 10,001-piece Eiffel Tower, new builders may want to start with a smaller set to build confidence before tackling such an ambitious project.

Happy building!
