No matter how tidy you keep your space, dust has a sneaky way of settling on everything—including your favorite LEGO® sets. While a quick dusting can keep them looking decent, every now and then it might be time for a deeper clean to bring those bricks back to life.
The Easy Way to Clean LEGO® Bricks
Important: Electronic components, stickered pieces, or parts with metal should never be submerged—just wipe them gently with a damp cloth.
Thankfully, cleaning your LEGO sets is simple! According to LEGO.com, you should use warm water (no hotter than 104°F / 40°C) and a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid hot water—anything too warm can warp or damage the bricks.
Got stubborn dirt? Add a mild detergent to the water to help lift grime. Just be sure to rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove any soap residue.
Drying Tips
Once clean, spread your bricks out on a towel and let them air dry for at least 24–48 hours. Skip the shortcuts—no sunlight, ovens, hair dryers, or microwaves. LEGO themselves warns not to “put your LEGO® pieces in the washing machine or dishwasher, and don’t try to dry them in the oven, the microwave or with a hair dryer.” (LEGO.com)

For Extra Grime or Funky Smells
If your bricks still aren’t sparkling, try a vinegar soak. Mix equal parts white vinegar and water, and let your pieces soak for 10 minutes. Vinegar is naturally antibacterial and great for eliminating odors. Rinse well and air dry as usual.
